Bec Stupak is an artist living and working in New York. She graduated BA from Sarah Lawrence College. As VJ Honeygun, Bec was a pioneer VJ at raves worldwide during the nineties.

In 2000 Bec became Art Director of New Media at Atlantic Records, but the art world called.

In 2004 her work with assume vivid astro focus was featured in the Whitney Biennial and in 2006, Deitch Projects gave Bec her first solo show, “Radical Earth Magic Flower”. In the same year, she starred in the Artstar reality series on the Gallery HD Network. She continues to exhibit as a solo artist and as a member of assume vivid astro focus.

At the same time, she started another phase of her work; directing music videos for a diverse set of clients. Bec’s subjects cover a broad range of artists from Amanda Lepore to a video made for Barbie, with choreography by Beyoncé Knowle’s choreographer, JaQuel Knight (of Single Ladies fame). Most recently, she worked with Steven Klein to edit and create titles and effects for Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” video.

As the principle member of the regenerated Joshua Light Show, she has traveled extensively performing at festivals throughout the world– most recently at Lincoln Center and Abrons Arts Center. In addition to live light shows, Bec has worked with Joshua White to design psychedelic light show visuals for the New York Shakespeare Festival production of “Hair” in the park and video projections for Farragut North at the Atlantic Theater (NYC) and the Geffen Theater (L.A.).

Bec is also an actor and appeared in Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock (2009) in the role of Earthlight Player. In 2010, she created her first long-form movie, “Dadarhea”, in collaboration with numerous artists, including Jim Drain and Devin Flynn.
